Can't Install Ubuntu 10.10
I have a Laptop with Ubuntu 10.04 and I'm trying to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.10, but when I restart and when I try to install Ubuntu 10.10, I get a message saying "Unable to install Ubuntu. The 'dev/sda' file/device is in an unknown state"
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I am not sure how to help you fix the problem but I suggest you upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04 in the next couple of weeks when it is released.
However, when you upgrade you should make sure you follow the instructions here:
The computer you have problems with could have different problems. It's good to start off with a clean install when upgrading so that any problems you run into are easy to resolve.
